Year in review: Most popular posts of 2019

2019 has definitely been a huge year for myself, it saw some amazing accomplishments and some hard times too.

I completed my final year of university, with much of a struggle.

I left university with people I didn’t start it off with, who are now my best friends.

I exhibited in my final year degree show.

I graduated.

I started this blog.

Iain and I had a leaving night for going to Australia.

We moved to Australia.

We’ve been in Australia for three months.

And now it’s 2020.

As a conclusion to 2019, I feel it is only appropriate to take a look at my first year of the blog and post my top three most popular posts and least popular.

So here they are;

Being Skinny: A post which caused much controversy but the one that people enjoyed reading the most (or didn’t enjoy but still read). This post actually received my first ever troll, or hate. Being Skinny, was a post about how it feels to be skinny and have people constantly talk about how skinny you are. Being skinny isn’t what it is cut out to be especially when your goal is to put on weight. In this post, I also discuss how it feels to be called skinny by someone who is overweight, and if I said they were overweight to them I’d be a bully.

Arriving in Australia: As we all know I moved to Australia in 2019 with my boyfriend, who is lucky enough to be a dual national, and that is exactly what this post is about. It seems to have caught the attention of many readers as they indulge me and my moaning about the flight time from the UK to Australia (which, by the way, is over 24 hours of travelling) and the inspection for spiders.

Leaving everyone behind: This post ties in with the above topic as I talk about our leaving night for going to Australia and saying goodbye to my family and closest friends. As I wrote it I was rather tipsy, drinking my grandparents homemade wine (which is amazing) and reminiscing of our leaving night, including the hilarious speech I made which nobody (including myself) were expecting to laugh at.

And here are the dreaded least popular posts of 2019:

Whale spotting and Joey cuteness: Admittedly, I am really disappointed that this post is at the bottom, as this post to me is a diary excerpt of a really special evening whilst travelling the East Coast of Australia. That evening we saw whales, for the first time ever, I felt rather emotional after this encounter as it was such a beautiful moment. We also saw many Kangaroos, one which was carrying a Joey in its pouch. I felt very lucky and blessed after this experience.

Drawing of the week: I created this post more for myself than anyone else, whilst being in Australia I have been struggling to keep up my creativity but, my sister came up with the idea that once a week I make a drawing and post it on the blog. That way I might feel more committed to it. I have tried but I am slacking a bit…

You get penguins in Melbourne: This post is about the Fairy penguins that appear on St Kilda beach, around sunset. Penguins, in Melbourne, Australia, a hot country. Honestly, I was so baffled when I found out this was a thing I had to see it with my own eyes, Australia literally has everything.

2019 was an absolute whirlwind, I can’t say it was amazing because I am very happy it is finally over along with that last decade. It’s time for me to get my head in the game, and do things for myself. Get a job and explore Australia. I have decided to grasp 2020 head-on and do everything that I want to do.
