The truth about travelling in a campervan

I was the first driver, and I stalled straight away. The good thing about Australia is that they drive on the same side of the road as the UK. There is one thing that is different, and that is that the indicator is on the right side, as in the wrong side, which is left in the UK.

The most beautiful and peaceful place in Australia, Seal rocks

Seal rocks were recommended to us from Iain’s family as it is a good surf spot, (neither of us can surf) but, the drive-through from Forster to Seal rocks is beautifully located as there is a lake on one side and the sea on the other.

Whale spotting and Joey cuteness

Around 5 pm we decided to head to the Look at me now National Park, where we were told we would potentially see some Kangaroos. As soon as we pulled into the car park there were a group of Kangas sitting on the grass eating their dinner (grass), we couldn't believe our luck.

The most easterly point of Australia and all the Hippys

Byron bay was definitely one of my favourite places we visited on this trip, (so much so I forgot to take a lot of pictures!!!) it was a super hippy, surfer town. Lots of wacky colours (do the Aussies spell colours with a u?) vintage shops, and crazy dudes but it was so nice. It is also home to Chris Hemsworth’s family mansion (we considered searching for it but it seemed to be amongst the rainforest and quite secluded - very, very sad times).

Eat street markets – Brisbane

We went to Brisbane’s Eat street market, which was the most amazing food market I think I have ever been too. On the outside it looked like large pieces of Lego, built up of brightly painted shipping containers, inside it was a lot more open and the containers made up the walls with an open roof. (My first thought was what do they do if it rains? But it’s Australia and it apparently doesn’t rain an awful lot).

Dolphin spotting in Noosa

I honestly believe Iain and I have been extremely lucky in our wildlife spotting, proof is in my last post Kangaroos and a Sunrise - Cape Hillsborough (promise of Kanga pics) and then in the post before that The Whitsundays - Australia travels continued.
